- Athlete’s foot is another fungal infection which causes the skin between the toes to peel, itch and turn red. Athlete’s foot can be passed from person to person through direct contact

Inflammation/irritation in the plantar fascia which runs the length of sole of the foot. There are several causes including: overuse, poor arch support in usual footwear, sports injury.

Often, but not always, occurring on the big toe, ingrowing toenails are caused mostly by incorrect nail cutting and wearing shoes where there is pressure on the side of the big toe nail both of which encourage the nail to dig into the skin. Ingrowing toenails can become infected as a result of breaks in the skin around the nail area.
